The Hostess Trolley

Ok, I'll absolutely admit that this site started as a tongue in cheek tribute to a time that once was ...

... a time where Hostess Trolley's where wheeled out on a regular basis up and down the country, indeed for dinners and supper parties everywhere - well in nice homes at any rate!!

... however I soon realised I needed to take the subject seriously, I discovered that Hostess Trolley's were for sale all over the place, there were many different kinds...

... although in truth all variations on a theme, but all the same, I certainly discovered that the fancy tray on wheels was seeing good service still.

Of couse I really like the idea of a housewife cooking away lovingly in the kitchen, piling up the goodies on the hostess trolley and then wheeling it out, into the dining room full of pride and with asmile right accross her face ...

... knowing her rightful place in the world, not only that, but being happy eith it too, I've long thought that living in the natural way leads to more happiness than when you fight against it.

Anyway I digress, I've scouted around and been absolutely astonished - all the big departement stores have them, although I must say what I've found online seems far superior - so let's hear it (once again) for the internet!! :)

So anyway, for the sake of research I test drove a couple of trolleys - one each on two seperate dinner party occasions, my guests seemed to like it - I'm not blessed with one of those very large open plan kitchens where you can chat to your guests while preparing everything ...

so I cooked up quick, loaded the trolley and - yes, it does work, food was kept warm, conversation flowed as well or better than usual and everyone was happy.

I can report it as a successful venture into the Hostess Trolley world, and I'll be hanging onto one of those that I gotr my hands on.
